Your First Chiropractic Visit: What Really Happens (And Why It Matters)

Considering your first chiropractic visit? It’s normal to feel a bit unsure when you’re not certain what to expect. This article outlines what typically happens during your first session and why it plays an important role in your long-term health.

Before You Arrive

We aim to make your experience as smooth as possible from the very beginning. Before your visit, you’ll receive online forms to complete.

These help us gather important details about your health history and current symptoms.

This allows your chiropractor to make the most of the time you spend together in the clinic.

Bringing Relevant Information

To help us understand your condition more clearly, please bring along any recent diagnostic reports.

These might include MRIs, X-rays, or other scans you’ve had. Such documents offer useful background and help inform your care plan.

Clinical Assessment and Evaluation

Your first visit involves a detailed assessment. This is more than just asking where you feel discomfort.

We use a range of neurological and muscular tests to examine nerve function, muscle tone, and how well your joints move.

This helps us identify areas of imbalance or restriction that may be contributing to your symptoms.

Planning Your Care

Following the assessment, we will explain the findings and offer recommendations. The approach is based on your specific needs and goals. During your initial 60-minute visit, you may receive your first treatment.

This could involve manual adjustments, soft tissue techniques, or other methods to improve joint function and relieve tension.

The aim is to support your body in moving and functioning more efficiently, using a personalised and evidence-informed strategy.
